alto in a neon??? ?? about *pic*

Ive been thinkin of gettin an alto for my neon because on burps it goes below 12volts with the car on and stereo off its reading 13.3 volts. I have talked to dom and here is the pic of what he sent. In my 2004 neon sxt will the battery post on the top be a problem???

the battery post can be removed if its a problem.

and as long as its 150+ amps and 14.4 volts - it should be fine. what kind of battery do you have?

Dom say the alto is 170 amps and i only have a stock battery, optima doesnt make one that will fit the neon

i think the reason your battery is only 13v- is because after a while, regular (not deep cycle) battries start loosing chage after being drained constantly (like your rechargeable AA batteries) wheras a deepcycle battery can be drained to 0v and fully recharged many many times.

i would do one anyway, even if its just a beefier interstate or something.

how much did that alt run you? my brother-in-law has some power issues and keeps tellin me there isn't a bigger alt that will fit in there.. If you can take a few pics of the install that may help my cause as well.. I am gonna send him to this thread for a look.

PM dave (audiolife) and ask him about the kinteik group buy. a 1400 should fit your stock - and he should be able to help you out. you would be better off with a battery\alternator upgrade over just a higher amperage alt.
