alternatives to dremel

i dont have a dremel or rotozip, but i'm going to definately have to trim up my edges on my fb box. i do have a jigsaw and a table saw, could i use these just as easily? just wanted to see if anyone else has experience with this.

buy a dremel.

you CAN use a jigsaw. good luck not cutting your fingers off.

i bought my dremel kit from costco for about 100, but it came with a ton of extra parts that i'll never use.

you can prob pick up a basic one for about 60.

i used a craftsman from sears for a while and it worked fine for the price. check tomorrow's specials in the newspaper to see if they have any deals.

i've used jigsaws to get the rough shape and then the dremel to smooth it out.

i've found the dremel to be really slow when it comes to cutting pretty much anything.

if u got an air compressor just get an air grinder or a cut off wheel or a air body saw

We got a dremmel at a pawn shop for $10 a few months ago...Might start looking there.

I have several Dremels each cofigured for a different task. You can get a basic Dremel for about $30. From there get the bits that you need. For trimming fiberglass I like a reinforced cutoff wheel.

If you have a Costco membership, they have a generic dremel with 1-bazillion pieces for $18.99 with a coupon you get at the front door. It ends tomorrow though.
