Alpine M series good enough for Hertz speakers?

JakeD, I have the Hertz High Energy 2 way for my fronts and they do sound great...I listened to a few different brands and I was blown away with the real sound and smooth sound from Hertz. I did go with a JL sub though. I am powering this with a Focal 4.75 amp (75w per ch for the fronts and 200watts to the sub).
My Focal amp is over heating mostly due to the poor ventalation in the rear of my Mini Cooper. I am considering Alpine PDX or JL HD 4 ch amp.

So the PDX amps sounded brite to you? I am looking for a warmer sounding amp with punch that does not thin out at high volumes.

There was no comparison between Alpine and the Audison amps. I listened to the Alpine PDX amp at a high volume and thought it sounded excellent, but when I hit the switch for the Audison amp it was like huge amount of scratchiness that I didn't know was there just went away. Certain instruments went from sounding rough/bright/cold to exactly the way I would imagine they would sound in real life. The music was so much easier to listen to and I just felt more immersed in the songs. It was very noticeable at high volumes even though the Audison was running less power.

The salesman just quietly smiled and said "Yeah, I can sell you Alpine if you want. They are a name well-known brand". This was as I was walking back over to look at the Audison line again.

I think I'm going to just buy the LRx 4.1k (2x130w + 500w) and figure out what I'm going to do with the rear speakers later.

the ldx 4.1 is an awesome setup for the speaker combination your looking at.

Have you listened to the Alpine Type Xpro's next to the Hertz Hi Energy's? The salesman at the shop I used to work at wants to sell me his pro's for $250 used but I can get a brand new set of the Hertz Hi Energy's from the shop. The Hertz sound awesome! Im thinking about getting the new Excelon XR4s for whatever front components I go with. Thanks
