Alpine IDA-X305 not playing sound from ipod...

Hello, I just bought the alipine IDA-X305 head unit installed it runs fine. Radio plays sound, hooked up the usb cable for the ipod, plug it in it recognises the ipod and also the iphone. I play a song through the deck it plays but no sound...

Is it simply defective? Or is there something i dont know that i should do?

I swear we get this "i get sound through radio but nothing else" question atleast once a day on these forums.

Check your wiring. You might have your power antenna wire on your deck hooked up to your amp turn on in your car harness. If so, your deck would only be turning on your stock amplifier when listening to the radio since that is the only time it needs reception.

I have never been pleased with the Alpine units and their integration system with the iPods, especially newer generations. I always suggest Kenwood head units, for iPod integration applications.

Check all wiring and connections, if you can't figure it out then call Alpine tech support and hope for the best.
