.. Ya know.. All that would be for naught if I'm totally wrong and the H701 does take the signal from the IDA digitally via AI-Net. I cannot verify it doesn't.. They really don't say.. Alpine might know.

Hmmm sounds like i'm better off staying with the 7800. I guess i'll just make some sweet a s s playlists, lol. What you said does make sense, i figured it'd be something like that. You forgot to factor in the super cool factor I just am in need for some change since i bored of the 7800 and it's ipod functionality, and i don't like ANY other alpine HU's, at least the new ones with full speed. The alpines h701 is like $350 on ebay i believe, so that's quite pricey. At first i wanted the Iva-D310 with the h701, but it's just out of my price range. Any other ways i could go?? I'm looking in the ball park of LESS then 600 after selling my 7800.

Has anyone used the iDA-X001 with the H701? Because I cant get the 701 to work.
