Alpine CDA-9856: owners, I have a few iPod Qs

Mine's installed and its pretty sweet, but I was wondering a few things concerning the ipod controls.

1. Suppose I plug in the ipod, press folder, and choose an artist; I hate choosing the specific album or "all" before I can choose a song. Is there a way to have the selection process skip the "album" step and go right to all the songs by the artist when you select the artist?

2. Suppose I have just chosen a song from an artist and am playing it; what if I want to switch to a shuffle of all the songs on my ipod? How would I go about doing this without disconnecting the ipod and manually pressing Shuffle in the ipod's main menu?
