Ok. I am not a newbie to car stereo but have just been out of the game for about 8 years. I have a new 117 deck and a 2006 Avalanche with bose and on-star. The harness I bought is the correct harness but it has four rca cables instead of all the wires to hook up the speakers. when i plug the rca's into the headunit i do not have any sound coming out. They made an adapter to plug into the Rca's to wire it up as usual. Do i need to go buy this adapter or am i just missing something? Thanks

do uu have steering wheel controls and a rearr video system? If so by changing the radio u will loose both. To fully integrate into a bose system you will need and ikntegration piece. Scosche has the gmlan2sr or the gmlan21sr...metra has gmos01 and gmos04 and there are many others. Make suure you use the amp turn on wire also. the amp is usually behind the glove box or under the rear passanger side of the center console. I would start by making sure you have volltage on the blue white wire and go from there.

I see u live in phx, if you need help installing check out arizona sound on 35th ave and bell and for parts rabadi and sons is the right place to go thedre on 31st ave and thomas

I don't really care about the steering wheel controls and all that at this time. The head unit turns on and everything just no sound comes out because of the gmos integration kit that only has rca's to hook up to the headunit there are no wire. I believe I have to get a metra line output controller -648. So i think i answered my own question. If anyone knows please confirm lol

Ok so i figured it out and I didn't need an output line converter, but I am still stumped as to wtf is going on. When the door is open and key is turned on headunit is on and sound comes out. when you close the door and the chimes shut off the sound stops coming out what in the hell is causing this?? Never had this happen before

I woullld try a new interface. If I remember correctly you have to make your own accessory connection. Meaning there isn't switched behind the deck.what the model number of the interface your using?

Thanks for your help guys I figured it out. I just got connection happy and connect two 12v power lines cause i ran a separate line to the ignition fuse. Dumb I know

Happens mre ften then not. If you feel whiley yoou could also use your RAP connection in the junction box by yoour left foot near the kick its a square black box. That way you can keep the deck on until u open the door. Or juust use the red wire from the interface only and disregard the acc you ran. If you need more current just add a rfelay behind the deck from the coonstant wire using the acc from the interface as a trigger and you will have RAP then also.
