Alpine Amps: MRP series vs PDX

Any advantage of using a single PDX 4.150 vs an MRP-450 and a MRP-650?

I'm wanting to send around 100rms to my front components and around 300-400 to my sub. Both MRP's would be roughly the same price (actually cheaper by $50) as the single PDX, and offer a bit more headroom for subwoofers. (I'm currently running a single CSS SDX10, which likes around 300W. I *might* be adding a second, in which case I can wire them at 2ohm and the MRP will put out 600W. Conversely, I could bridge 1+2 and 3+4 on the PDX, but would then need to buy another amp for the front stage).

It pretty much comes down to headroom (MRP's) vs simplicity and space (PDX). Are there any technological differences between the amps, or advantages to powering a sub with a mono amp vs bridging two channels?

Im pretty much sold on Alpine amps, despite cheaper alternatives. I have no valid explanation besides my positive history with Alpine, there availabitliy/price in Canada and the aesthetics of their amps. That being said, I'm always open to suggestions.

Hmmm, my credit car payment just went through, so I'm hoping to order my amp(s) in the next few days. Anyone have any input or suggestions?

I have the 9886, and was going to get the Imprint module in the near future. Any idea which set up would be the best? I assume I can only go active with the MRP's unless I get another PDX to power my sub(s)?

the MRD's are nice amps. Ive never used the PDX's, but i have only heard good things about them

plus, the PDX's look way cooler.

you cant go wrong with either, really. if you have the $$$, go the PDX
