Alphasonik 1200x1 to 2 Audiobahn Alum 12...?

Hi there, the Audiobahn alums are 6ohm DVC, so that makes them a 3ohm load each, with a pair of alums it goes to a 1.5 ohm load..

So the question is that I was considering an Alphasonik mono class D amp, the ratings are 1200 at 4ohms, 2000 at 2 ohms and 2400 at 1 ohm...

The woofers are rated at 1000RMS each, but thei are a little bit over rated, so their are really about 800RMS... On a 1.5ohm load the amp should give about 2,200, so thats about 1,100 whats per sub...

ARE THE ALPHASONIK AMPS ARTED RMS OR MAX POWER? ARE THEY ANY GOOD? IS IT A GOOD CHOICE AMP OR SHOULD I GO WITH A SMALLER ONE?

Actually the Alum12Qs are only able to handle 500 watts RMS to each voice coil.

With them Parallel wired for a single channel at 1.5 Ohms I would still stick to only 500 watts to that one channel.

Their tech department has posted that all audiobahn subs are to have their total RMS watts cut in half for each voice coil.

This is what people have been getting wrong and blowing them.

As for the Alphasonik 1200. I really don't know that much about them. Sorry.

Alphasonik is actually made BY audiobahn, so I'd believe their ratings are pretty close. So if your subs want a kilowatt, it's pobably the same rated kilowatt their amps provide.

That amp would work fine, just keep the gains down and you'll have room to grow later on.

I dont think Audiobahn makes them, they are both under the same company though, so they are probably coming out of the same build house

i'm guessing alot of the major amp makers like hifonics-ppi-rf-mtx studied alphasonik amps in the past...

audiobahn doesnt make alphasonik!!!!! they might own the company thou....

Actually they use alot of same designs so you can go ahead and call it a bahn and second if they are so good why aren't competators using them and not the kind that goto wal mart and crank it up .
