Almost finished walling off 4 Hype-R 12's, 15.8cu ft 3-8" PVC's PICS

Well here is my old box,

The most i ever had in it was was two type-r's with the PA3000DB and i hit 141.x on the new TL. The box was built for 3 subs, and is 7.8ft NET at 36hz with two 44in^2 slot ports.

I decided I wanted a bigger box, and more power, and 4 subs, and better looks, so....

So I built the new box, Above, which is 15.8 ft. Net with 3 8" PVC ports and its tuned to about 37 now, but i will be adding flared aero couplings on the ends to make it tuned to about 35hz with them installed.

Below: After i got the box in i painted the face of it with textured paint (Grey) , Then attatched two 1/2 inch sheets of plywood and attatcted fabric (Blue)over the front of the box that profile the entire cab of the truck and make it appear walled off, but it really isnt i guess idk i guess it is.

The red just shows the orientation of the ports.

Heres the best i can do until pics!!! haha

In real life it really looks nice, if i would have matched the fabric to my truck interior better it would look amazing and clean but i chose grey suade and i have a blue interior. I might just do my headliner and get seat covers and a grey console for it. My door pods will be grey too.

Well i guess my camera program is not working right now im going to re install it but I will get pics up asap of the finished false panels on the front of the box.

And that box is waaaaay too friggin big for 4 type-r 12's. I would have gone with 14 cubes MAX.

Yes they are firing at the floor but the box sits about 7" off of the floor, so it has enough room to come into the cabin, and I like the sound better than having the ports behind your ear, shakes your legs more rather than blow your hair around.

I know it is just a little large but before I had it tuned to 31 hz and with port displacement it was about 14ft and tuned to 31hz but I didnt like the super low tuning so i trimmed the ports and now its 15.8, its OK and LOUD.

Honestly I know no one believes this unless they hear it but it actually doesnt sound like you might think. It is surprisingly good. I have heard alot of subs in the wrong enclosures, as well as a few friends subs that were in too large of enclosures but these dont seem to sound too bad in the huge box. I have had them in 2, 2.4, and 2.5 ft boxes tuned to 32-35hz before and yes those boxes sound "better" and have flatter response but these big boxes are alot louder.

The program that i need to take the pictures off of my camera is not working right now. The MS paint drawing is a mock up, its completley walled off and sealed all the way around the cab and covered in grey fake suade and held in by large 12" metal brackets. It also has threaded rod bracing that is visible on the outside. Its all cleaned up.

I did have just two in there for a few weeks, but now ive taken every thing out except for the two stock rear speakers from deck power. Im building door pods for a 3 way front stage and waiting until i have all 4 woofers to finish the sub stage.
