Okey I wired my last cars system by putting in the speakers/HU, I ran the amp wire back to the 1000 watt amp and put all the grounds/power etc on it was a 2 channel and I hooked up both my sony 12 inch (800 watt max) subs to that.. I plan on doing it again with my new car with a new sony HU and I haven't bought any amps/subs yet but I wasn't sure if I did it right or didn't add some stuff I should have.. it worked but it wasn't exactly the greatest system ever..

I noticed my friends had an amp for the speakers and then a seperate amp for the subs and that kinda confuzed me.. anyone offer some help? Thanks.

First off forget max ratings, always go by rms. As long as you match these up and have a good box, your on the right track. As far as the seperate amps go, it is usually better to have seperate speaker and sub amps. It gives you more control on how you want the system to sound and sometimes you can run into the problem of the subs "robbing" power from the other speakers with a single amp system.

If you hooked up everything and it worked last time just do it the same way and you should be good to go.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
