All hail the Dodge Ram SRT

I like a badass truck like anyone, but I don't get the point. If you are spending that kind of money and your goal is to get fast, why wouldn't you get fast in a car that can corner and maneuver? A truck is adding a lot of weight and can never handle the speed like a nimble small coupe could, not to mention 90% of the people with that truck don't need a truck for any practical reason.

I dunno I just don't get it.

Can get a used one in the higher 20 thousands, this was a year ago when I looked at them. There are not many around but yes, they are quite fast. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You think a Hemi is fast? haha

Some people just are not the car type of guy. Like me, I couldnt see myself in a car period. Only reason I dont own a truck is because I know I would end up cutting up the cab to get some loud *** beat in it.

Meh. Fair enough!

I'm definitely a small car guy so I can't relate (driving a lil 07 Mazda 3 currently), but I guess that makes sense.

= bad *** (period)

might not be faster then the SRT10 but it has 4 less cylinders.

im sure if you put the new tundra V8 in it with a super/turbo charger in it, it wouuld be a whole new ball game.

(not mine)I would take one of these over a SRT any day of the week...
OH yeah, me too I have wanted a syclone(the truck version) to go along with my grand national ever since I got it.

The old typhoons were sweet, but I don't know about faster. I have been in both and I got more the push you back in your seat with the SRT. However I would still rather have a Typhoon just because not many of those float around anymore.
See the thing is they are quicker, like let's say it was a 1/8th mile run, the sy and tys would come out on top 9/10 times. In the quarter the srt starts to flex its muscle a bit more so it would be a alot closer o f a race. The advantage of the sys and tys is the traction factor, the launching procedure for them is simple, stage, stand on the brakes, give it some gas to spool the turbo until the truck starts shaking, when the light turns let off the brake and mash the gas, and finally hold on for dear life.

Dodge is gay. Inherantly the srt10 is gay.
Agreed.

It all depends on your taste, if you need something to be able to haul some wood or tow or anything like that then a truck is essential, and if that is all you have might as well make it fast;). Like our towing truck it's a 07 F-350 CC LB with the 6.0l Turbo diesel, we put a custom tune, intake, and exhaust and now the thing dynos 425rwhp and 740rwtq. It is a hell of a sleeper and surprised many cars who thought they were fast. I was going to tow my grand national out to a 1/8th mile drag strip that is fairly close and run both the grand national and the towing truck for fun but unfortunately it got rained out.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yeah like I said I guess I see that. Especially if you have the functional need for a truck. I'm a metropolitan *** that doesn't have even the shadow of a hard day's work on my horizon so I would never need a truck lol. The most I haul is a couple of 30 racks for a party.

Don't get me started on the whole hemi thing, it annoys the shit out of me. It's just a marketing tool for chrysler.

my buddy s got a newer lighting and I would take one of those any day, not just because its a ford but it handles more like a car and is alot lighter.
I love lightnings as well helped a buddy set one up that was putting over 500 horsepower to the rear wheels (don't remember the exact number but know it was 500 something). It was pretty crazy to ride in.

Why not just turbo or supercharge the stock motor? You throw off your weight distribution and handling when you swap a v8 into something like that. You would be better off with working some nice power out of the stock engine.

I'm guessing you don't have a past with racing.

hem·i /ˈhɛmi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hem-ee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun Automotive. an internal-combustion engine having hemispherical combustion chambers.

Hemi, is not a term used as a tool for production. It is the way the motor is made, with differnt combustion chambers that makes the motor react differnt. I can understand all the hemi stuff getting on your nerves. I like dodges I'm not going to lie. But I'm not going to say theres not better trucks out there. Theres other quick trucks out there. For example the new Tundra, the Nissan Titan, the 5.7 hemi, the Chevy 5.3 or SS.
