In terms of being able to actually make it to the top level of competition, I don't know many sports that are harder than golf. We're talking about a few hundred guys in the world that actually make it on the PGA tour.

how do you define "hardness" when it comes to sports? by teh number of people at the top? by that reasoning wouldn't like ping pong be even harder? heck prolly no one makes a living at that...

i've played 3 sports pretty well (golf being one of them) and really don't see how you compare between anything- every sport is different in it's own way.

it is seriously mad ignorant though to come out bragging about your handicap and talking about how "hard" the sport, your proclaiming your own greatness at, really is...

a guy that i raced with made it to F1. tell me that isnt the harder to get into than the PGA. ricky barnes, one of my sisters good friends was on the PGA, my brother and many others have made it to the top in professional baseball. they are all tough, but golf isnt anything compared to F1 as far as the odds of making it there.

for alot of other sports you can learn how to play baseball or basketball, etc and be half way desent at it. but with golf you really have to have a lot of god given talent. you cant really teach someone whos terrible at golf to be good. out of the millions apon millions of golfers around the world less that 5% are actuallly good (shoot around par) at it and can make a living from playing.

That is a complete crock of shit.

I've seen completely terrible golfers at the country club stick with it and get into the single digit handicap range.

It's not about god-given talent, it's about dedication.

If you were any more full of yourself, you would have shit coming out of your ears. This reminds me of the South Park episode where kyle and his family move to san fransisco and everyone there is so smug that they enjoy the smell of their own farts.

There are so many flaws in your logic i could walk through them. You seriously think someone couldn't say that about any other sport? Have you played every sport yet? Human nature is so funny. People think the smallest objects are huge and all encompassing when they've got their face right up to them, and at the same time look around them at everything in the distance and write it off as small and irrelivant.

I mean beyond the obvious things you have to take into account how many people actually try. Also you have to think that there is a limited number of those people due to a limited purse and the odds of a high payout are low in relation to other sports that they excel at. Then you must factor in the amount of competitors that chose other sports due to things such as image... actually **** it, i'm not going to explain this to you. you'd never be able to wrap your head around it anyway.

I like to think someone as amazing as you portray yourself to be wouldn't be caught dead in a p.o.s. gtx

Golf is a sport of dedication as tommy said.... You don't just wake up one day and say "I am going to be great at golf" it takes practice. Pro golfers do nothing but play golf that is why they are very good at it. Some people do start out slightly better than others that is for sure, and I'm not saying everyone can be on the PGA tour but it is the same for basketball or baseball. It is a learned thing. I could see you being one of those guys who gets really pissed at me because I show up usually drunk and I don't take it seriously, BECAUSE it is a G-A-M-E. I have fun, who cares what I score, I don't...

for all you guys saying that you like to go just have fun and not be serious...your taking this thread a lil too serious. Not all of you, but im sure everyone can pick those people out...
