air intake for 98 ford escort sport

is there any way to get a cold air intake for a 98 ford escort sport or mod one to fit? i read somewhere if you cut down one made for a honda, it'd fit. dunno. just wondering if anyone knows anything. cuz i really want to give my car some extra power but i have trouble finding parts but i kno that i can use parts for other year cars and whatnot but idk how to find out.

intake doesn't give u "power" fyi.. it does help it breath better, but dont expect gains on a 4cly car unless u are turbo or something... but yes u can do it.. u can get a filter that connects to the end of the stock intake tube and remove ur stock air box

Thats a pretty general statement. RSX are dyno prooven to gain 5-7whp from a CAI.

but i wouldn't put one on an escort.

Making your engine breathe better will on most applications result in an increase in gas mileage and power. Although it may it may be a minute amount.

I'm sure K & N makes a filter for your car that will help you out. Their's have been proven to increase breathing by a very large percent.

my friend has a type s with header, full exhaust, the new AEM V2 or what intake.. he dynoed at 160whp and like 135lbstq.... oh, and when they say u get 5hp, that includes that u have exhaust and other things already, and then things add up

My stock type-s dynoed higher then that. Either he's lying about his car being a type-s, the dyno he was on is retarted or he's an idiot. Thats base model numbers.

He might have been getting some TERRIBLE heat soak from the aem...

No the intake was the only mod.

theres a dyno for you. And that one has twice as much gain as i would estimate on average.

i dont know what you are talking about but the mustang dyno system is AWESOME! Mustang by the way is the company that makes it not like it was made for the ford mustang
