well......last monday i noticed my cats nose was very yellowish, i didnt think anything of it, just figured he got into something he shouldnt have....well, about 5-6 hours later, he came back in the front room and it was SUPER yellow, so i went looking for what the hell he was getting into, didnt find nothing, so i checked him out, not only was his nose yellow, but ALL of his skin was yellow, pads on his paws, inside his ears, inside his mouth....everything....so i researched it on the net and found out that this really only happens when there liver goes bad, so i made an appt. at the vet, took him in and she said he was haing liver failure, and there were a few things that could be causing it and that i could either put him to sleep or order a blood test to see if anything could be done, this cat is cool as hell and i have had him for 4 years, i wasnt gonna just give up on him

he was at the vet for nearly a week, and today we got the blood test results in....he has got fiv which is basically the same as hiv in humans......thats fvcked up!

my cat has aids.....

anyway, he is home now and he is doing ok, has some color back

if he gets sick he is a gonner though

i know im gonna get a bunch of people on here that are like "***, you like cats"

i dont care, i do like cats, i like dogs as well, i have a boston terrier (kirby), my tabby (scooter), and a norwegen forest cat (Mr. big) (he weighs 27lbs)

anyway.....just figured i would say wtf? who new cats could get hiv....

one of my fiances moms cats has aids. he had it for over a year or two now and he seems to be doing fine. best you can do is make sure he is healthy as can be and try not to keep him around other cats if he/shes a fighter or it can spread.

sorry to hear about it..... i hope he does well and can live a little longer. The virus is called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, it is spread among cats too but i think its harder to catch for cats
