**** i fried my amp, had it wired to a 1 ohm load like manufacturer stated it could handle. subs KNOCKED, also had them rewired to 1 ohm. was pushing 500 watts per channel and was real loud. well everythign comes ot an end, like an hour roughly of play time on it (not constant) saw smoke coming out and fried amp smell.

take it apart and see this :

so now im SOL and need a new amp, any suggestions , current sub can take a max of 800 watts it says

they are 2 old rockford rfp4212 duel 4 ohm voice coils. had them rewired to 1 ohm. i dont have enough money to buy new subs too so just and amp that can power these well, but not destroy them

old amp was a kenwood kac-81010

i googled your subs and stats said they are 400 rms...800 peak. i wouldnt run the subs to peak. something around 400-500 per channel.

but im sure you can find something around that at 4 ohm.

what amp for around 200 lower 200 preferably range would you guys suggest? something that i will be able to use better subs with int he future also that can handle more power...... price is an issue, if its a lot i might be able to get it but i doubt it money is hard to come by right now lower 200 range would be perfect for me but i dont want a pos, so it might be worth it for me to spend some extra money on it. god ****it i was ognna buy new comps too, but nooooooooooo i cant do that now, now i have to use stock speakers yea!

Eh... sry to tell ya for that $ range with the 1200w rms ish @ 1 ohm that u seem to be looking for your not gonna find much unless u go used. Check out e-bay tho, they have some good deals on new stuff. Probably not warrantied though...

Hifonics BXi 1206D, what about that? 269 shipped, little more hten i was looking to spend but the specs look good. any personal opinions on it? anyone used it? one thing i do not understand tho sorry if it sounds noobish but

RMS @ 4-Ohm: 1 x 450-Watt

RMS @ 2-Ohm: 1 x 900-Watt

RMS @ 1-Ohm: 1 x 1200-Watt

does that mean it will split the 1200 into 600 and 600 for each sub, or does it mean that there is 2 outputs, and each output will put out 1200? i am confused because it claims it is a 2400 watt amp, so it makes me beleive there is 2 sub outputs right?

Don't even look at the max rating(the 2400 watts), just look at the RMS. yes 1200 watts @ 1 ohm means it will split the 1200w between however many subs you have hooked up to the one channel as long as they are wired for 1 ohm of resistance. (well 1 dual 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm or the 2 dual 4 ohm subs u have) There is only one output (well one neg and one pos).

Some of the hifonics mono amps actually have outs for 2 subs just to make it easier tho. I cant really comment on that amp but I had a bx1500d and it wasn't bad, a little overrated tho.

you could get the hifonics or a lanzar opti 1000d or ma audio 1000d or a couple of different models of soundstream amps. i would go with the soundstream PIC1.1400D (1400@1) or the soundstream PIC1.900D(900@1). Even though there quality has went down some they are still to me higher quality then the others that you could get and Im pretty sure it would defiantly meet its ratings.
