Ok, so my Se 12 should be getting here sometime next week! What kinda box should i put this guy in?Sealed or ported? And i need to know how big the box is gonna be, and 1 more thing i have an MTX 6500D amp. Is this a good amp for this sub??

you want SPL or SQ? SQ 30~35hz SPL 35hz and up. my SE 10 sounds real good at 37. but thats too low because my box is bigger (havnt backfilled it to 1.2ft^3 yet)

but definatly ported. whats the specs on that 6500d?

around 700watts, so yea that amp will work awesome.

and REs site calls for 1.8cubes tune @32hz , so push the box up to 2cubes or so for sub displacement and keep tuning around 32-35 and i think u will be pleased

if u need box plans contact Jmac, they are more than worth it and makes ported box building a billion times easier.

Oh yeah my amp doesnt have a sub sonic filter...is that bad when yo have a ported box? And does Jmac charge money for box prints?

of course he charges, 8 bucks. as i said they are well worth it. if u go ported, u should tune low to like 30-32hz and at that point u would be fine since i dont know of any music that has bass go lower than that. just make sure u dont play any test tones or anything.

yeah building my ported box was a breeze. I gave Jmac the dimensions i wanted, receieved the plans, took them to a wood shop, they did all the cuts for me, i took em home and just put it together. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

i never got one when i bought my SE's...i wouldnt worry, u can always just call em and ask em where theyr at
