After 2 months I finally found a car for my gf

Ok so about 1-2 months ago my girlfriends car 1996 prism caught fire randomly and was totaled. She had no car...I think the cars fire was caused by an electrical short when water got into her engine bay when it was raining reaaaaally hard. Her left right taillight had previously be knocked out pretty bad in a fender bender she had like a year prior. the car had 140k miles or so and ran in great shape.

So her dad was behind her and told her that he would help her buy a car. Turns out her dad is a complete moron when it comes to cars. He had a friend at a dealership that wanted to sell her a 2002 daewoo nubria with 60k miles for 4k including everything tags, title, taxes etc. This was the first car she looked at after her car blew up and her dad was pushing her to buy this.

As anybody with common sense would know that if you need a car to get you from A to B thats reliable, cheap repairs, great gas its honda and toyota(mainly looking at their civics and corollas) The accords and camrys she wouldnt need all those extra options, and they get less gas milage. She just needed a car that was clean and drove great and would last her a long time.

Her dad got pissed off at me and told her fuc k it let your boyfriend help you try and by a car. Mind you she was spending the money, not her dad. So she agreed with me and we went to look at a few civics....we looked at about lets say 5-7 or so and we were set on one to buy but the next day it sold before we could give the dealership the money. We then went about another month or so and couldnt find anything.

Until yesterday. I was searching on the internet and saw a 1992 civic DX with 83,000 original miles for $4000. The had had no picture so I called the guy and he said it was an excellent car that someone traded it in to get a brand new ford. The place was a huge ford dealership in VA. I got there and was amazed at how professional the dealer was. I test drove it for 30-45 minutes and dogged the hell out of it to see how the car handled it. The AC is the coldest AC I have ever seen and the car handled the load perfectly.

We talk pricing He comes back and says with everything its going to be $4700(700 more than the "ad") with tags title etc everything. After about 15 mins I got the price down to 4200$ which includes tags and everything. He threw in free full tank of gas and a free detail on the car. Its a white 1992 civic DX its the cleanest civic I have ever seen in my life for being 15 years old.

1992 civic DX 83,000 original miles for $4200

or

2002 daewoo nubria 60,000 miles for $4000

WHich would you choose? I think we got a good deal on this car. Everybody knows hondas resale value is crazy high. What do you guys think?

Pics as soon as I get a chance. Im at work right now in tweeter and their are no customers so im bored. I just sold a tv for $200 commission. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The daewoo was 10 years newer...and less miles....
Yeah but everyone knows daewoos are some shit. Big difference between korean cars and jap cars.

but I would've still picked the Civic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I would rather have a civic with 130k miles than a daewoo with 60k. Civic DEMOLISHES the daewoo in gas milage. In fact I would rather have my civic at 198k miles which still drives strong as crap. I would only take the daewoo to sell it, profit what I can and get a better civic.

Oh yeah and the carfax was completely clean. In 2001 the civic only had about 50k miles. WHich isnt too shabby for 9 years of driving. THEN from 2001 to 2005 the car only had 6 THOUSAND MILES in FOUR YEARS. In the last 2 years the car put on about 20k or so..

The reason why her dad wanted her to buy it was because he didnt want to go through the hassle it takes to test drive and buy a good car for a good deal. Hes lazy as shi t and comes home from work and sits on his *** all day. I went through 2 months of trying to find a car and it finally paid off. VS buying the daewoo and having problems with it down the road(big problems). With buying a used car ANY car is a risk, but you have to be smart with it.(At least I tried to be).

With her prism when she got the timing belt changed and some other minor tune up stuff it costed $1800 because her dad is a fuc king moron and went to "his friend". I know a certified mechanic whos been my friend for 4 years and with parts and "labor" I could have got all the stuff she got done on her old car for like $500 if less which would be just parts because he does the work for free. She got $800 back from taxes and had to use all of that to repair the geo. Her dad forked the rest of the grand.

Thank god.

We once had a tv that was made by daewoo, the power button broke.

My Deawoo microwave oven stopped working after only 61,000 miles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Timing belt on my escort, with labor and parts, was only 240. The mechanic also checked the valves, since they can get ****ed up fierce with a timing belt goes while driving, which mine did.

Don't get your girl preggy, her dad will probably kill you, from the sounds of it.
