For example, say someone hooks up 10,000 watts worth of amplifiers, but never cranks the volume knob past 10%, or someone with 2500 watts extremely rarely cranks their system. This demonstrates that the user and his/her listening habits contribute to the equation. Also, I have no idea what size alt you currently have, or how much current draw your car accessories will require (or how often you use the AC etc). But assuming its a decent sized alt, since it is a V8, it has potential to be fine. My best advice is simply try it for a while and see what happens. Keep an eye on your voltage gauge.
