Adderall FTW!

It's not just not being able to concentrate for me. Tuesday during math (my only class that day) I noticed how easily I would start thinking off topic and I would miss an entire chapters review because I'd be totally tuned into something else that would be totally insignifigant. Also, I noticed I would change the position I was sitting in every minute or so. I've been like that for a while and just never really thought about it until just the other day. Honestly, I hope I don't have ADD, ADHD or any other kind of A's or D's. I just need to find out if that medicine will help me at all in my situation

Tell them exactly what you told us...minus the illegal part. How you have a hard time concentrating in class, can't get school work done, you think it's affecting your grades...he'll write you up an rX easy as that. Now, if you are lucky and want some fun medicine, go back complaining that you can't sleep, he'll get you Ambien. Fun stuff.
Don't take Ambien with pneumonia. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

By the way, I'm on Addy right now and have been since about two studying for a **** exam. Did you know Adderall's patent on their pills expires next year and becomes a generic drug so doctors are beginning to prescribe this other stuff that takes about double the dosage to work. It's bullshit.

i passed on that.
i did just take 2 shots, a lunesta, and some random painkiller ive never heard of before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i oughta feel good soon i hope.........
Koladapin FTW?

Yea my buddies took 5 of the adderall each and they didnt sleep for two days. They sat for hours and watched the sun come up.But tell me about this ambiam? How does it make u feel cause now im curious to try it. As long as its nothing like seroquil.
Haha, A buddy of mine found a bottle of pills at a Subway and decided to take two the next day before school (DUMB). Anyways, the turned out to be seroquil. He claims he was blacked out the entire day and we had to tell him half the shit he did. He fell down a half a flight of stairs, forged a signature on a permission slip AFTER he told the teacher he didn't have it, and screamed the lyrics to "I'm on Acid" by Lil' Whyte in the hall all day. Shockingly he didn't get caught.

so i`ve been struggling in school lately and i asked one of my friends what should i do and he suggested adderall so he gave me 5 30 mg Xr pills and i took one today and i was impressed on how focused i was to accomplish things that i used to hate i mean we watched Equalibrium(sp) in English and i was so into it. So i asked my mom to set up a doctors appointment to get it perscribed and she did! i just dont no the exact thing to say to the doc?
ok so im NOT going to "ENCOURAGE" use of perscription drugs since im not a doctor, but if it was ME going in, id say this-(keep in mind ive been on ADHD meds since i was 7... so i kno what they wana hear...) "i have been having a lot of trouble focusing. school is important to me, and i cannot focus during classes. i find myself daydreaming, and i have been told by many that i seem to have ADHD issues. i would like to try medication for this. "

u want to aim for metadate(good as adderall but WAY less side effects) adderall, or concerta.

Ok, I feel I need to dispel a few wrong "facts" here. If you truly need Adderal or Ritalin it will cause no hyper effects t all, its actually quite weird. For someone who has ADD amphetamines actually cause you to slow down and do allow you to concentrate as does caffeine. And before anyone says this is false, ask a doctor, all this info is straight from my doctors in the past.
Not quite 100% true here.... sorry.

The theory behind ADHD is that the brain actually is working SLOWER in kids/people with ADHD. The reason they are hyperactive is a compensatory mechanism to help them stay awake or function. Sort of like slapping or pinching yourself, shaking your head back and forth, running in place, etc., just to keep the activity going and keep your attention and stay awake.

Stimulant drugs help promote a higher level of brain activity, hence eliminating the need for the "hyperactive" behavior. This is why it doesn't cause overstimulation in people with true ADHD... because their level of functioning was actually LOW to begin with, and the stimulant brings them more into a normal level.

Hope that helps clear things up a bit.

Interesting....

I have been diagnosed with ADD and believed the same as the person you are quoted. I thought the reason for the lack of ability to concentrate was overstimulation of the brain.

Interesting.

Alot of physicians even believe this... because they went to school before we fully understood the problem, and haven't kept up with the recent discoveries.

A common problem... medicine is so vast, keeping up is a full-time job in itself, not even counting working 80+ hours a week seeing patients. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I actually have ADHD and took Ritalin all throughout elementary school and part of middle school until the effects seemed to wear off on me. I switched over to Adderall and it's so much better. I'd be lost without the stuff.

ok so heres the verdict i went to my family Doctor and told him that i had problems staying on task and focusing and he sayed im going to perscribe you some weird named stuff and it will take 2-4 weeks to take affect and i was like well i am graduating in 3 months and i need something fast acting and i told him i did research on this stuff called adderall and he said so that would be more relevant to my cause, being i want something fast acting and so he perscribed me 30 15mg XR Adderall Capsules. Will this be any different than the 30mg i have been taking as in the effect of the pill?
