start using accutain(however it's spelled). It's expensive but worth it.
My face used to be horrible. I had tried literally everything on the market(proactive included), and nothing worked. I starting doing accutain in 9th grade, and after being on it for just 4-5 months have had ZERO breakouts since, and literally just a handful of total pimples in the last 7-8 years...best thing that I've ever done.

I was on that crap back in high school cause I had really bad acne and nothing worked for me. It did work pretty good some had some nasty side affects. I swear my eyes are still sensitive to light cause of that stuff. Saw something on the news a while back about it being bad for you.

I hear spectro gel or whatever the hell it's called works really well. Mixed reviews on ProActive.

I tried everything over the course of 3+ years to get rid of my acne.

OTC garbage, prescriptions...

Tetracycline, Retin-A Micro... etc...

The only thing that worked for me was Acutane. It worked phenomenally. I had such bad acne, there wasn't a smooth spot on my face. I've been acne free for over 5 years now.

Oh really? I have not heard of such method.

Will fish oil do just as good, because I have a huge jar of it still and it would be pointless for me to be taking both?

May help a bit, what works for one person may not work for the other.

Try using eucerin after washing your face with any sort of creams to prevent the dryness.

Also, get a soap for people with sensitive skin to use on your face.

Something with no fragrances / unnecessary shit in it that's gentle.

Clearasil works VERY well. Though it is a little harsher on your skin than many cleaners, so it MAY cause redness.

Proactive sucks really really hard.

Currently I am using Cetaphil, some prescription lotion, and Tazorac (prescription). Seems to be working pretty well, also the Cetaphil is VERY easy on your skin.

Another thing.. I know you mentioned dry skin... This is something you have to deal with when you are using acne face wash a couple times a day... You will have to get used to using lotion. Find a good OIL FREE lotion, and I would also get a lotion that is oil based just in case your face ever gets REALLY dry, and the other lotion just doesn't cut it.

I'm not sure if this is a possibility for you, but seeing a dermatologist would be a good idea. Mine just brought it up on time, and gave me a couple of prescriptions, and recommended a cleanser.

Get on google for goodness sake. I took a quick peak and there's tons of stuff out there. Almost all of it says Accutane is exceptional but must be taken correctly. Here's an example of what one site thinks of it:

For severe acne, Accutane® cures approximately 35%-38% of patients after one course of treatment, and 70% of those who take Accutane® experience long-term remission. Adult women have higher relapse rates than teenagers. One course of treatment will take on average, 4-6 months.
The daily dose is most often determined at 0.5 - 1mg per kg of your body weight. The total dose, that is, the total amount taken over the whole treatment period should be not less than 120mg per kg of body weight for long lasting benefit. If you have very oily skin and giant blackheads, are a younger teenager, or have acne on your chest and back, then you have a greater chance of having a relapse of your acne.

Most dermatologists believe it is a remarkable acne medication, some people's acne clears quickly while in others improvement is gradual. Multiple courses can be taken.

Eucerin worked wonders.

When I was on Acutane, my skin (ESPECIALLY MY LIPS) would crack and peel until they'd bleed.

Keeping your face moisturized is very, very important. Eye drops as well.
