Needless to say, I have plenty of birds found to hunt. Still can't believe I didn't find any good sheds.

thats where youve beeen
Yes, my life will be encompassed fully by turkey hunting with a side of school the next 8 weeks. A little over 6 weeks of MS turkey hunting, and then a trip to the Mark Twain National Forest in MO to extend our season. May also go to Kansas or South Dakota after the Missouri trip.

There are 3 different gobblers in the first pics..All big birds..They are using our fields regularly and I am going to try to get one with a bow opening week..Will be my first turkey with a bow if I succeed, and a feat very few have accomplished.

One of my roommates my sophmore year hunts their a few times a year. I've seen some good footage of them duck hunting there.

fried wild turkey breast and the legs on a charcoal grill ftw
Deep friend wild turkey breast chunks

or

Soak the breast in honey and cajun seasoning then wrap and bacon an grill.. YUM!

Turkeys are smart. They knew the season wasn't open yet.

Nice pics, I'm very jealous. I'd like to try turkey hunting. I've heard it's very frustrating for begginners. I've got a new 28" Benelli that keeps bugging me to try.
If you start and get a bird within 100 yards gobbling, you will be addicted.

What Benelli?

i was just messin with deerhunt lol, what i hear you have to be really sneaky on them turkey's.you can check some turkey hunts on youtube.pretty interesting.
Yeah, their sight/hearing is excellent. I was in a shooting house with my dad's 10x optical zoom camera is how I got the pictures. They still all came within 15 yards of me though.

Its an awesome place. So much easier than hunting birds around here, and there are a ton more in MO.

Benelli Nova, 28" smooth bore, 3 1/2" magnum chamber. Tiny bead sights I'd improve with some HiViz before I try for a real hunt.
Pretty good guns. Shot one for the first time the other week while squirrel hunting. Real smooth action. And beads will work just fine, as long as the gun shoots straight.

BTW, one of your girlfreinds started a thread about you because she missed you.

Awesome! One of my black girls.

Looks like some nice birds out there. During the off season, do they get fed or are there any food crops around?
We have about 12 acres of clover/wheat plots on our 160 acres of land. The birds had a ton of acorns on the surrounding hardwoods this past winter. Food is never really an issue for them in these parts. The genetics in this area seem to allow for some really nice beards on the birds.
