a real question on box construction

ok, two questions

iam building a slot ported box for a 10.

now my plans consist of a L shaped port that raps around two sides of the box.

the port is 1.75 in wide .

i was wondering about the other end of the of the port (one on the inside of box)

in my diagram i labeled the area in question with a ( x )

#1 dose the board labled ( a ) have to be 1.75in from each side ( f ) and ( c )???

#2 and dose the area (x) include in the: box volume, or port volume???

It needs to be 1.75" from board F (to maintain consistent internal width), and more than 1.75" from C. Also, remember to factor in port end correction since you are using a wall of the box as a wall for the port.

#2 and dose the area (x) include in the: box volume, or port volume???

Assuming you space everything out correctly, it would be part of the box volume. If you get board A too close to board C, then that area will act as part of the port (not what you want to have happen).
