my buddy has an 01 chevy ex. cab and he's getting the following system:

he'll have his system here in the next few weeks and we were both wondering who would be the loudest?? Im not sure on the specs of his box (probox site doesn't say) Mine is in my sig......thanks in advance!!

you both would be able to give about double the power to your subs, but since your amps will put out about the same wattage, maybe yours a little more (hifonics is overrated, orion usually underrated) im gonna say its box dependant. your box is really small though and his is a prefab so im guessing it sucks. i call it a toss up!

cone area isnt that big of a factor in this situation. these trucks are extremely sensitive to the install/box design.

yup, box will determine thaa winna! or tell your friend to turn his gain all the way up to get it louder so he blows his subs, that would be fun as well.

not necessarily. its all in the box design in these trucks.

mine is port/subs up, (about even with the rear door pockets, his will be subs/port facing up but leaned up against his front seats (hes gonna fold up his rear seat and called it a day)

port needs to be facing the rear wall.
