Had to make a new thread because the old one was messed up....

97 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4

318 Magnum

Auto *****

Engine was having oil pressure problems so after trying a bunch of precautionarys decided to pull it and rebuild it. Going to be getting:

Shorty Headers

Performance underdrive pulleys

Aftermarket ignition system

Freeze Plugs

Accel Perfomance coil

Streetfire spark plug wires

oil pump and pickup

Probally adding a 5-6" lift and 35"s to it later on with blacked out wheels, cut out fenders and bushwacker fender flares, custom (made by us) brushguard and rollbar.

Sent the block off to have .30 over keith black pistons put in and everything in machine work that could be done to freshen it up. Costed about $1200.

Got the engine all put back together...didnt take pics as we built it up though :/ ...

i had a 99 exactly like what you are planning.

had 9 inches of lift and 35s.

stock engine

average 9.3mpg highway

yea this is only going to be drove a few times a week..he has other cars so gas mileage isnt that important. Should be a decent truck when done.

in that case no worries.

mine was a beast until i decided to jump out of the river bottom.

broke the imput shaft and the transfer case was destroyed

edit:
