.I want to buy a 92 plymouth acclaim from a lady who died from her son she was old and didnt drive it very much it only has 65,000 miles on it but it smokes very bad and oil is coming out of the exhaust.I dont know whats causing this.Is this a head gasket or something more. There is no oil in the anti-freeze if thats relevant. Its also an automatic. He only wants $175 for it.Its in great condition.

Two things could be the cause but the most likely is the valve seals. Yes they are easy for an intermediate mechanic. That engine prolly smokes more than a raging forest fire. Do a compression test following the directions in the service manual for that vehicle to rule out the second possibility for the smoke.... cracked rings.
