holy ****ing crap. thats way less than 9sec. he sat there for at least 1 sec before he even went.
Um, the quarter mile time starts when you cross the start line and ends when you cross the finish line. It doesn't start when the light turns green if you're competing against someone in a different time bracket. Heads up racing is when the light turns green the first person to cross the line wins.

He's competing against someone in a slower time bracket so the slower guy gets to go first. Whoever crosses the finish line first wins, no matter of the quarter mile time.

Either that or I believe he's spooling up his turbo.

That run was without the NOS too, so it was all the motor. He has

Ported GN-1's-1600$

3.4 stroke BMS crank-800$ ?,

Stage 1 block with stock number of bolts (studs) top and bottom. -we'll say 1k

GTQ-70 turbo, -1000$

83# injectors,-420$

home ported intake,-free

home made header on PS,-free

KB intercooler boxed in al to make it a liquid unit (sits behind the dash). 1500$

Has the Ruggles 206 roller cam-140$

Powerglide with a loosey goosey convertor (10.3% slip !!!) 3.33 gears in a 9" out back.800$

That was roughly 7500$ on the engine. The heads helped him fee up his airflow into the motor, crank allowed for higher hp, and the GTQ-70 turbo gave him well over 1200cfm of airflow, the injecters the fuel, the intercooler for the bigger turbo, and the converter for the high stall, cam for duration, and well...ya got yourself a 9 second car..

oh wait, if only it was that easy....

I love these engines.

Yeah, I'm anxiously awaiting the turbo conversion kits for the 3800 Series II S/C... but I'd probably still keep the blower instead of switching to turbo on my buick. I can put the car into the low 13's and still retain the great ride quality and luxury using the stock blower.
