880 sirius radio help needed.......

I recently had the 880prs installed by a professional shop and it's great with one exception. They installed a sirius satellite tuner and everytime you crank the vehicle, it says acquiring signal for 1-3 minutes before it the signal comes through. It works fine after that, but it does this everytime you start the truck. Did they do something wrong, or is this just the way it is with the 880? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I am a novice at this, but would this be something I could do myself? I am pretty frustrated with this place. They are saying that the satellite tuner is bad and must be replaced. I would rather do myself if possible, but I don't really know where to start.

Depends on how handy you are. You'll need to pull the deck, find the power lead to the Sirius tuner, and move it from the red wire to the yellow power wire.

However, since you had it installed at a shop, they should cover all of it. Just take it back and let them know that you think it's connected to the switched power instead of constant.

Yeah, it's frustrating, but let it be their headache instead of yours. That's why you paid them in the first place. More than likely it was an honest mistake, it can happen. *shrug*
