I dont have an i-pod, no i-tunes, or much else. My system consist of a power acoustik 3000, 3 maw-10"s, REaudio comp 6.5 comp set, 4x6 infinitys, 6x9 infinitys, and a paower acoustik 4ch amp. I had the 860 in my last truck, and I just want to justify paying extra for things I may not need in the 880. I know it's kinda silly, and I've made a few threads regarding different HU, but i've narrowed it down to these 2. Any input would be great. Thx for the help, Vic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Ahhhh........ok. I was just asking 'cause I had one and didnt have (or noticed) anything wrong with it. Thx for the heads up on that though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Thats what I was trying to justify. Paying the difference for something that I may not even use. I'm a simple guy. I like SQ, but not to the point that I need a more intense EQ setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Thx for the help everyone.

The 880 is an upgrade to the 860 but not much of an upgrade. The 880 offers dual L/R EQs but most people only use 1. Other than that the 880 only offers 3 more bands of adjustment than the 860. They both look amazing cosmetically. Kinda depends if you like color or simple displays. As far as performance is concerned they have the SAME d/a converters (24bit Burr-Brown) and both have Network mode for running active. On a less obvious note, the 860 has a higher preout voltage than the 880 but you wouldn't notice that difference anyway.

Unless you have the money and really really like the 880 then I wouldn't bother ditching the 860 for the 880.

Vic, I had the 880 in my car and now the 860 with the Blazer... I like the 880 tons better, but the 860 isn't bad.
880 has a much sharper image, and it looks a lot less "cheap" with either white or blue instead of faded multi-color.
Oh come on now, the 860 doesn't look that bad. You don't have to watch the movies all the time. You can use the BGV or Spectrum Analyzer or even turn those off and only display the pertinent info on a black screen.

Ok then I think my mind is made up. The 860 it is. I do like all the colors and displays it has, as well as the functions it offers. Hey Kenny, if you want to sell it back to me let me know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
