8" or 15"

I have 3 setups in mind.

2 - rl-i 8"

6 - AA Assassin 8"

1 - Fi Q 15"

Could any one explain the differences between 8" and 15" sound wise

?

(I KNOW 7in SO DONT POST THAT)

usually 15's will play lower frequencies, and bass might sound a little deeper, but out of those options i would go with 6 assassin 8's, interesting little setup, will get read loud.

yeah the 8"s are hot idea. But im concerned they wont play to lower. What on the t/s parameters shows how low they will hit?

The 15" Q will have about 26% more displacement potential than the 6 8s, would be easire to wire, and is just a better all around option i believe.

Well about the 15Q and 12Mag, I guess if you wont to pay the extra money for the mag.

From what I understand just cause they look similar, THEY ARE NOT the same drivers... I owe a Q and love it, havent heard a mag YET.

I think also it depends on how much you wanna do with the setup. if you want an easy instal go with the Q and if you want to get into and build a 6 8" box and all the wring then go with that. IMO 15" Q > 8" assassins

I'd imagine it would be pretty close in output. But as Jim said, anyone who things the Q and the Mag are the same woofers has obviously not heard them both side by side.

The 6 8s would be a much cooler setup. They may not dip as low, but my four could shake the steering column with a 25-32HZ songs just for comparison. They were almost as loud as my 15. I think the 6 would be louder. Feed each 3-400 watts and youll have a VERY loud setup...

6 Assasin 8's have enough displacement to dip as low as most 15's and would do the higher stuff (60-100Hz) better. 26% more displacement isnt a big deal for daily listening and if you are going ported, displacement is almost entirely moot anyway.

hehehe for some reason my friend is getting 8 8" assasins on 2 ed 9.1's in a sealed box in his trunk! it will be crazy

Im going with the 12" mag if i can get it, (special conditions). If i cannot its going to be the 15" q for me. Its one or the other and price in this situation doesnt matter... Base your judgment on if the subs cost the same which would you buy???

say $350 for the 12" mag and $350 for the 15"q if this was the case what sub would you buy?

the 12" Mag D2 is $450.00

the Q15 is $ 279.00

I would get the Q15.

But if they were the same price i would get the Mag D2
