8 guage power wiring okay?

Just recently aquired an oldschool punch 200.2 amp. It will be hooked up to a 12 Infinity M3D sub in a ported box. I know the oldschool punch amps are very underated, but will an 8 guage power wire hold up if the amp is turned up?

If you set the gains properly and don't "turn up" the amp then yes it will be fine

ive had an 8 gauge powering my alpine 600watt rms sub. worked perfectly fine, then i switched the 8 gauge for my speakers amp and used 4 gauge for my sub. you should be fine as long as it is good quality wiring

You like that hx2? I just got a 15" hx2 from the pawn shop for 50 bucks! Lol! I've got it hooked up in a big old box but only 150 watts on it till I amp up. I'm impressed so far! Can't wait to get about 600 watts on it.

I'd run 4 or even 0 just in case you want to upgrade..then you won't have to rip all the wires up again..

Little light on the power for my hx2.... I have the 4" coil version.
