Ohh sorry...Im really not sure is there a way to tell? it has the built in speaker if that makes a difference.

its a second gen ipod touch, the first gen doesnt have the silver/mirror back to it, and it also has the built in speaker, which the 1st gen doesnt have.

i have a second gen myself, free bump for a good item, GLWS, and good price.. if my gf didnt get get a new one i'd pick this up for her
