lol. Anyways yeah the count is at 77k like earlier, expected to go voer the 100k mark soon. Its expected to rise sharply once excavating of towns covered in mud is done. Its pretty horrible in some of the videos ive seen, dead bodies hanging from power wires mass graves.

Over 120,000 confirmed dead as of this morning and they still haven't even reached many of the major towns in Indonesia. Could anybody do a little research and find out the deadliest recorded natural disasters. I have a feeling that when everything is all said and done this could be the worst. We have only donated $35 million so far, hell when Charlie hit Florida we got 10 times that amount within the following days. I know it isn't all about the money because money won't make the problems go away but we should be doing more to help the relief efforts.

From that link, it looks like the coast of India was hit the hardest.

^^i think cuz teh waves had time to build some momentum and stuff. still, nothings worse than having islands wiped out. coulda been the other way around the distance killed some energy.

when you think about it a 30 foot wave is huge but for it to kill so many people is disastrous. the sheer volume of water though that was in those waves is easily enough to pour through towns and what not. that one vid of the restaurant....dizam. within 2 min place got FILLED with water.

It doesn't come at you like a traditional "wave" like you see surfers getting. It is more like storm surge from a hurricane and a huge wall of water rises about 30 feet instantly instead of crashing into everything.
