780 Billion Dollar Stimulus Bill Passes Through Senate

this is horse-crap. spend spend spend. thats all that is going to be done. how about the money hungry representatives cut taxes. free market will take over FTW

Thats the issue, spending over 1 trillion dollars in the first few weeks of his presidency, approved by only 3 republicans in the whole congress, one of which is that fairweather faggot Specter.
Doesn't sound like the "bipartisan" and "taking a scalpal to the budget" that he talked about on the campaign trail. For that he is already a liar and a failure

Agreed. Where is all this bail out money going to come from, anyhow? Yeah, our pockets, our childrens pockets, their childrens pockets, and so on.

A republican submitted an amendment that scrapped all the spending and used the 800b to give every tax payer a 5k tax rebate, 10k for couples. That gives an idea of how much tax payers are paying to make this bill happen.

I just hope this can create some jobs. I dont hate it. Personally I dont even care. I just want a freakin job.
I want people to have jobs too. I just don't want to have this fail, economy doesn't rebound, and then we are all still jobless and 1 trillion dollars more in debt. If this bill creates the number of jobs they think it will, each job will cost $500,000 of tax payer money to create //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

man there's alot of crying going on here. Either start a revolt or shut up about it already. I mean all you guys that are angry about this are doing is talking. Talk is cheap. Put some action behind your displeasure our you're just wasting your own time thinking about it and our time posting that BS.

my 2 pennies, I don't care about this bill, the poor will stay poor, the rich will get richer, the middle class will go towards either spectrum.

Its the truth. But the reason its even legal to outsource as so is because of Clinton. The same people always praising Clinton are the ones saying corporations, the government, etc are killing the economy.
Everyone hates Bush, yet loves Clinton. Its ironic when they hate Bush for things Clinton did. And love Clinton for... Not sure. So far everyone who says Clinton was a good president just hears it from someone else and repeats it.

The other night I was talking with my roommate. He is white, goes to USF college of business, plans on getting an MBA, and doing financial services or trading on the stock market. Obviously it will pay quite well, and he will be taxed heavily for it, especially with such high capital gains taxes. Anyway, he always gives his opinions on stuff, and they are very strongly Republican. He always tells people they need to get a job, quit being a leech, he doesnt want to pay anyones welfare, etc. Although these are his feelings, he voted Obama. When I asked him why, he said that he just liked him. I was explaining that we need to cut spending, cut everyones taxes, get the government out of everyones lives and let capitalism sort everything out. He totally agreed with me. I said that someone like Reagan who cut all the stupid worthless programs, cut taxes, etc and let the economy boom would be perfect. He said he couldnt agree more.

Then he asked if Reagan was a Republican or a Dem. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif He is also a huge Clinton fan, although he cant name any of his policies or what he actually did. When I sneak in some of Clintons policies without him knowing I get his responses as "thats rediculous, that doesnt make any sense!". Then I tell him that it was Clintons policy, who he loves. He then makes up some stupid excuse to why its ok.

People are stupid.

I'm not gunna say for sure, since I was too young to be into politics, and there's no point in digging up old politics for sake of a chance that it might be referenced... but the facts remain, when Clinton came out of office, there was a low percentage of unemployment, and we were in a surplus (Something, which I believe, hasn't happened in a LONG time prior to Clinton.)
