Yes, I use it. It's a dedicated trail rig. Just picked it up from my mechanic this morning, having some trail damage fixed. I was able to find the old sound bar pods. Looked at the wiring this morning. Unfortunately, it's proprietary wiring. One square connector that plugs into each pod that has wires for the speaker and light. I was thinking there would be one on each side, but nope. There's one set of wires with two connectors on it that used to run up the OEM roll bar and across. Inside the actual pod is another wire that connects to the speaker. At least it has some older JL 5.25". So back to sounding normalish mediocre. So the wires are not long enough to reach both sides of the wheel well. It was sounding like garbage with both rear speakers missing, so connected it for now and used to zip ties to hold the pods in place. Follow me for more stellar installs haha. For now it will have to do. At least half of the music isn't missing making for some odd effects. It will get some abuse. I don't usually have the top off, but do sometimes. Mud, sand, etc. So at this point thinking I might just get the Alpine 6.5" rollbar pods done. I think it was around $500 out the door with $150 ish for the install. They haven't seen it though. So if they'll do it for that price, might be the best option. A little broke at the moment from the repairs and other expensive hobbies. So unless there's an easy way to re-do the wires and have them long enough to reach the wheel wells, this will probably have to wait. All that said, keep in mind those JL 5.25" were in the Jeep when I bought it. I've had it for over 10 years. So 6X9 would probably be fine. Even when the windows are removed, I usually run a bikini top. So even if it was raining, they're not getting rained on directly. 6X9 on the wheel wells would be more exposed though.
