I have a 12" Adire audio shiva... 80 + ship

then pick up these

get a 1.25-1.5 cu ft sealed box (~50 to make yourself, maybe ~80 to buy)

1 300W @ 4ohm amp... ~100-150

that'd come in under budget and Shiva's have tons of SQ and decent output... if your looking for an SPL sub there's better choices though

I would get a 15" Ascendant Audio Arsenal or a Soundsplinter Rl-p, ported tuned low, and any amp that will do around 800 to 1000 watts at 2 ohms. Might have a few buck left over...put that towards your front stage. Anyway, If I were to start over, that is what I would probably do.

got an almost new adire brahma 10" with 1.5 @32hz ported box and usamps xt 2000d i'll sell for 600 shipped. the amp is only a month old and the sub has under 1 hour of use.

i gots a d9 15 for 300 you can get a box made for somewhere around 100 and there are plenty of amps that can power it for 200 and under

I have a pair of Soundstream EXACT 10"s in a Marv-built (and carpeted by him too!) sealed box (.5 cu ft per chamber).

400W RMS per ... very SQ oriented woofers with GREAT efficiency and low-end extension.
