6.75" in a 6.5" hole?

Im looking at those new pioneer premier 720prs speakers for a front stage but i don't know if they'll fit in my stock 6.5 hole? And does anybody know the mounting depth of these things?
Pioneer's website might help with depth and diameter. You can always make a MDF or composite ring and mount it over the hole, then make a cutout in that ring that is large enough to accomodate the 6.75" driver. That is what I have done for my doors.

According to Pioneer's website, the actual mounting diameter is 5.5", and I can tell you from experience that MOST "regular" 6.5" speakers have a mounting diameter of 4.875" to 5.125". Depth is 2 5/8", which is a little deep for a 6.5" but not extreme.

This will be my first time installing components so if i had to make an mdf would i use 3/4" thick or would that make the speakers stick out to far? And if it happened to be to deep i could just make a wood ring too right?
