6.5" in 6x8" opening ... who here has done it?

I know it can be done... I am just wondering who here has done it on a Ford vehicle. If it's a Mustang, all the better as that is what I am about to do.

My plan is just to make a mounting ring out of 3/4" MDF and mount the woofer right in the middle of the 6x8 opening and maybe mount the tweeter right above it instead of in the sail panels like most folks do. Better imaging this way.

Anyone here got pics of their 6.5 woofer in a 6x8 opening?

Yeah but they are made of ABS... which would seem like the perfect recipe for flimsy, resonant mounting plates. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Making it out of MDF will also give a little more backspacing behind the magnet so that I won't have to worry as much about depth constraints.
