6 12's in 04 Expedition

Well I just finished up a buddy's 04 Expedition he drove from Houston today and I've been building the box the last few weeks during my free time. I did the install today. It consists of 6 Arc Audio KS12D2 subs and one Arc Audio KAR1000V1 which is the old KAR line of amps. I also put in a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X591 headunit in.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

nvm, I saw it. Not a fan of the box(subs on different sides) but craftsmanship looks good.

No I didn't get vids I finished the install at about 7 last night and went out to tune it, the guys were hungry and wanted to go eat so we went and did that first. I wolfed down my food and went out there to tune it in the parking lot and when they came out said the restaurant was shaking. They were also in a hurry to go back to Houston. If I had more time I would have metered it but whatever I can always do that later. I never bump in the neighborhood but last night when we were heading back to my house I turned it up about a mile down my road and my brother while talking on the phone heard us coming just to give you a perspective how loud it is. I'm not a complete fan of the subs on different faces but this is some 16yr old kid that wanted it loud but also wanted it to look nice and he still has a little bit of room to put some stuff back there if he needed to.

Not too shabby, nice and clean! Not a big fan of the box design, but I am sure it suits it's needs for being loud.

What is he running highs wise? Looks to be no amp for the highs, unless he is running them off the deck? If so with all that bass and that I imagine it wouldn't sound that good, unless he don't care.

Yeah he's one of those guys. Well we spent every amount of xmas money plus just to get this stage done. He was telling me he's about to get some more money in the next few weeks so he wanted to do the highs and another amp. I told him to go get an alarm put on instead since he lives in Houston, so he's going to go get a 2 way compustar pro. So it's stock speakers running off of the headunit. I think I'm going to get him into 5.25" Arc components all the way around and a new series Arc KS300.4 (one ballsy a$$ amp!).

nice can you fly to oz and do mine next i would like a new trunk install with twin 15s and twin 12s and twin 8s in the cabin as well as an amp rack and a custom centre console where the 8s are hidden just jump on a plane and ill see you soon

nah but for reals i like it clean and simple not to much not to little i like it a lot i cant say less is more when you have 6 12" subs but you get the drift

I hear you about the money issue. I am more a save your money till you get everything and then put it in, but that is just me. Sounds like you are heading down the right path though. Good luck and happy slammage!

I appreciate it. Yeah if it were me I would beef up that electrical first and do headunit, components and component amp right off the bat. Then saved for the bass and probably would have done two of those amps. This kid just wants to go bang for all of his friends, which is cool because I wanted to do that at 16 so now I don't even do systems in my own car just satisfy other peoples itch to have bang.
