556L Bypass trouble (2003 Saturn L200) Help!!

Hello all,

Ok Im dying here, somebody please help me. I've finished installing 564T Hornet Remote star/security system and I've installed the 556L bypass module but for the life of me, I can't get the **** thing to remote start. Engine turns, starts for 1 second. shuts off. Each failed attempt sends me back to the 10 minute long tamper mode. I've installed a relay for a (-) output switch on the keysense wire. I've checked every wire going to and from the module with a multi-meter and everything looks to be in order. I've done the programming routine for the bypass which has no problem learning the resistance according to the LED on it. I installed a manual switch on the yellow R-code resistance wire just to make sure it is the Passlock II system causing the problems. I start the engine with the key, flip the toggle to cut the resistance wire which puts the vehicle in fail enabled status (securty light and wrench light on, passlock disabled) shut the vehicle off, remove key , and try the remote start from there...which of course there is no problem starting the vehicle. But as soon as I reactivate passlock II, no start with remote start. I've done the learn routine countless times to no avail. What am I missing? Has anyone else had trouble with the Saturn L-series 2003 and up? Could it be my module?

from what i have experienced with your issue my problem was that the pink ignition wire wasnt connected to the ignition. is your? this is what i see from a note on the keysense The lt. green key sense wire at the ignition harness must see a ground during remote start to keep the SERVICE light from coming on. is that happending? and if that doesnt work you might try a different module like a 1700g. or you can go old fashioned and figure out the resistance and use a relay and the proper resistor

well i have the pink wire on the bypass module connected to the pink ignition wire of the vehicle. Now considering there are two ignition wires, should it be connected to both or just the one?

There's two service lights...the engine and the car w/wrench light. The relay i setup does not turn the either light on. If i disconnect the passlock ylw wire while the engine is running, the car goes into fail enabled status which turns both the security and the car w/ wrench light on. Of course I can't get the car to start without the key and passlock on at the same time, so there's really no way i can tell if my keysense relay is keeping the service light from coming on. If i could just get the stupid remote starter working w/ the passlock. It looks like I am going to have to setup the resister/relay mod this weekend. I wish I would have known of it earlier considering the bypass was $60. What a waste. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay.

Oh and one other thing. I went back to test the resistance on the R-code wire going to the BCM (not the wire to the ignition switch) and it was quite eratic. When attempting to remote start, it would not send the right resistance code, just jumped around numbers. My negative lead was hooked up to the passlock ground (black/orange). Now considering my ylw/black module wire was hooked up to that end, I can only assume the module is just not sending the R-code it learned. Have you experienced anything like that? Maybe the Bypass is just bad.
