Expectations can also lead to mind trickery. Sometimes we think so great of something, speaking in general, that we continue to think it's good, even though it may not be. And with others stating their experience was good, if one person says theirs wasn't then they feel they will be looked down on. In terms of sound deadening, I never have high expectations of what it will do, that way I won't be disappointed and if it does a great job, I will be very pleased. The one layer of Damp Pro on my trunk lid really surprised me. So did the deadening on my wheel wells in my previous car. A good example is that I had done my hood, I assumed that using deadener it would reduce engine noise. Honestly, I couldn't tell much of a difference, if any. But using a hose and spraying it on the hood you can make a difference...so the application and the intent make a difference as well. I disagree with that Peter guy that sound deadener does not work. It does and he can't tell me it doesn't when it has for me on numerous occasions. Just because he has another method of doing it, does not mean that his way is the only way and the best way.
