what does the wax do?

Wax makes the top slick. If you let it dry you have to sand before adding another layer.

The stuff I am getting has wax and it works great you just do the Layup all at one time. So do a layer and let it set for just a bit and then do the next layer.

not sure if this resin does or does not have wax in it. not even sure what the purpose of wax in resin. but if i had to gess.... i would say it helps with the release prosess when molding shapes.

There are 2 basic types of resin. Finish resin (bondo brand) has wax to give a smooth surface. It's meant as the last layer you use. Lay up resin (mostly used in boating insductry) does not have the wax since it's meant to be able to accept another layer.

for most car audio applications, wax is a waste of time and causes more work to be done. when i build i use normal resin for the base and all layers of fg, sand, layer of duraglass, sand, rage gold, sand, repeat as necessary.
