5@32 or2@32 difference in performance is?

Depending on the driver. You could reach it's mechanical limits in a box to large. And have a horrible reponce curve.

In a question relating to a box to large -

Less power handeling, lack of output in upper frequency range. To large and you lower the mechanical limit of the driver.
 
it would be the way that it peaks out. even .5 cubic foot makes a difference. If you have a box building program you can chart out the peaks and see for yourself
