I bought some subs off of you parkave... don't mean to hijack your thread, but I'm kind of a novice to the hp motor stuff. what is the difference between 3hp, 4hp, etc motors. And what subs have them?

hey, pike- hows the subs treatin ya? well, i hope. anyway- the 3hp and 4hp motors are tc sounds built motors, both motors have been on a TON of subs using them... the 4hp's that im interested in are used on the tc5200 (tcsounds.com) Rockford Fosgate team RF sub (this sub actually used a standard 4hp in the first model year, and a modified 4hp motor in the later generation pic for reference (standard 4hp is the silver one)-

Um- eclipse TI PRO used the 4hp, (btw- standard eclipse TI used the 3hp,iirc),ground zero plutonium, i believe the soundstream xxx subs use a modified 4hp motor(i may be wrong on this one- dont know firsthand), and loads more that im sure im forgetting at this moment. if anyone else thinks of more, please chime in! Either way- bump it up. still needing these...

Ah i was just wondering because I have seen more on e bay, I'm considering doing what you did, buying one and blowing it up to recone it.

yep- just make sure you get the silver ones, the black ones wont take a quad coil... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212441 their is my thread detaling the differences... good luck to ya either way.
