4 ohms vs. 8 ohms??

I dont know if this has been asked or not so Ill ask it anyway.

If I have an amp thats 500@4 ohms 1200@2 ohms and 1600@1ohm how many watts would it be at 8 ohms?Right now I have a Dual 4 ohm sub thats currently hooked up at 8 ohms.I just trying to figure out how much power I might be sending it?Is it half of the 4 ohm spec??

Call the company and ask. That would be the best bet to get an accurate answer.

wire it to 2ohms, parallel the voice coils. But like said above prolly like 250w

id wire it down to 2ohms instead...the difference between 2 and 8 ohms is just the resistance the amp sees.. ohms law states V=IR, so if you lower the resistance current will go up because voltage is constant..
