4 awg or 0

I want to get 0 awg but i am broke. is it going to hurt the amp with 4 awg, if it is I will not use it intill i get better wires

I'd suggest patience until you get some cash for 0 gauge...better safe than sorry! Patience grasshoppa', patience! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

will a cable from a welder work? my car is soooooo long, well ok 20 feet long and I cant pay $4 per foot. but I do have a big battery in the trunk so the amp dont have to pull the power though 20 feet of 4 gauge ever time it hits.

I also have a CAP from walmart. is it use less or should I use it?

Cap useless.

The battery in the rear is great, that means that the amplifier wont have to try to pull say 130 amps of current through the 20ft of 4awg as you mentioned. If your lead into the amplifier is only 3-4ft long, it shouldnt be as big of a deal.

Just know that the battery will not charge as fast, although I cant be certain you'll notice much of a difference with only 1500w rms, roughly, coming from it.

In sum, you should be fine.

Also - - - if nothing else, spend 20 bucks and buy yourself a digital volt meter, put it on the rear battery and watch it, just in case //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i use welding cable 1/0 gauge and its great. i only paid $30 for 25ft.

ditch the cap. you shouldnt need one if your electrical is up to par.

welding wire works great. I have found it to be better than car audio wire over time, holds up better think it has to be able to be dragged around rubbing against crap all day and getting hot sparks rained on it. But it does not always look as pretty. You can order colors but black is what most places carry on the shelf.

My Cap has a Volt meter, i wonder if I can take it apart and take the volt meter. or would the Cap hurt anything if I had it hooked up for the voltage meter
