4 Adire Tempest 15"s or 2 Brahmas?

How would 4 Adire Tempest's sound compared 2 2 12" Brahmas? In a explorer, both in ported boxes built 2 their specifications? Running the rms for each?

12" tempests?

id say 2 15" tempests would be sick, loud, and sound great

but 2 12" brahmas would be loud as fcuk. specially ported correctly - and still sound great.

IMO - the brahmas are prettier. id rather have a bit more SPL than SQ... and the room for 15's is a little bit harder to use.

id say 2 brahmas would do what you want.

i think 4 15's are a bit overkill IMO.

you don't have enough room in an explorer with out drastic measures for 4 tempest your talking 16 cubes plus port 20 cubes of box easy for these subs to perform optimal spl and sound there best IMO , you will have to ditch the rear seats. however there is a cat running around here with a similar set up in a single cab pickup (cut through) that does 150 @ the head rest

with that said i would go with 4 tempest if i had the room you could power all 4 with 1000 watts and it would be very very loud much louder then 2 Brahmas in equal box's

thats why i opted for the brahmas. but he didnt say what he wanted them for. SPL\COMP or just a loud DD.

i really want the brahmas but are they for spl only cuz im not planning on going competition, but i want a system where i can hang with anyone on the road. does anyone know how many db 2 15" tempest would hit compared 2 2 15" brahmas?

you cant compare things like this.

they will be loud as fcuk if you put them in the right box with the right ammount of power.

they both have the possibility to hit 145~150 - espically the 15's

if you have the room, get 15s, and put them in a big box with little power. they will get real low, and wang REAL hard man.

if not, get the brahmas, and put them in a medium size box, and they will do the same.

i would put my temepst against W6's anyday i would rank temepst prolly with the SE model RE subs or w7 jls they in the right box will get very loud and EXTREMLY low and sound very very well doing it.... IMO they are the best sub money can buy for under 300 bucks ( excluding LI subs for sheer output) you will not find a sub with as much out and sq for under 300 bucks as these. i think the LI subs will beat them in spl but they won't in SQ, as for the brahamas they will be as loud and sound better in a smaller box

Correct me if Im wrong, but the Tempests dont use XBL^2 I dont think. I would expect the Brahma's to have the edge in SQ for this reason.
