The shorts I have seen happen with my own eyes have never even come close to setting a vehicle on fire. Its my truck and I'll do what I want. I know fuses are a good idea and thats why I use them when I install for other people. I was just stating that I dont use them and have never had a problem. That being said I will continue to run fuseless until the day I burn my vehicle to the groud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Which I have yet to see
FYI plenty of other people on here run fuseless as well
I did it for years in my comp cars because when you hit the lanes and pop a fuse your in trouble //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif now in my daily i never did a comp system so didnt have to worry about popping a fuse

too gain what? go over to termpro or usaci post there and see what the champs tell you! in a perfect world you might gain 1.5db from dbl power now if you were to dbl woofers and dbl power you might I said might gain 2.5-3 dbI have been doing this shit for a very long time and i have tested more cars and built more comp system's then most of the people on this forum.now if someone told you they gained 3db from dbl power they did something else to help there score
The magic 3 of 3: doubling input power, doubling cone area, adding a port net you up to 3db each. Doubling the cone area and doubling the power at the same time, known as running correlated sound sources, nets you up to 6db. It's the theoretical basis, not the reality basis.

So theoretically going from sealed to ported nets 3db? I have never heard that one before.

I think you should do some more home work on the 2-3db gain from dbl power:rolleyes: in my crx I went from 1 3000d @1ohm too 2x3000ds @1ohm and only gained 1.2 and i did more then dbl my power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I was giving him benefit of the doubt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I realize that number isn't set in stone...

Yes. Using a sealed enclosure limits you to the sound pressure created by the front wave of the cone. Going to a ported utilizes the rear wave of the speaker, thus theoretically netting you 3db (2x loudness) although it is almost always less due to phase issues.

I live 2hrs from Denver. I would like to meet you in person. I'll be my truck. Battle ROYALE
Sister and brother-in-law are in Loveland, so you might be closer to them. I'd obviously be hitting up both places to see family. Hoping to make it happen next summer, just gotta clear it with the GF as it would be a solo trip since I have very little room in the car...

I got to page 7 and realized this went from a build log to an angry jerk circle w/ the inlaws.

Everybody is arguing about the stupidest little things. Holy Post Dump.

Let the man do his build log how he wants, thats why it's his car and his build log.

If his car sets on fire, it will be his problem. The guy's not an idiot, he knows teh risks.

btw i made some calls, I might have found a buyer for ya.

No, he is an idiot because he somehow thinks he knows more about acoustics than people who have doctorate degrees in the field when he hasn't had any study whatsoever.

I'll help and post a good pic, hopefully it saves something
