4 15" LMS-R vs 4 15" AXIS?

Thinking about going with one of these 2 subs. The box they will be going into is a 4th order wall, specs are as follows:

8^3ft sealed

18^3ft ported

tuned @ 43hz

357 sq in of port area

power, im not sure on yet. i was thinking about 2 Sundown 4500D's though, so at least 9000w rms+.

can either of these subs take 2500+ daily on music? i mostly listen to rap/slowed down music, so im wanting to play the lows pretty well, which i know both of these subs will do. my concerns is power handling, and which one would be better for my application?

Axis. Gonna get veryy low...if tuned lower //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
43hz in a 4th order that big IS low tuning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/spank.gif.0d78e34d42ea8780359e903aeb6697d6.gif

I vote axis all day. pure sexxx subs

The best route would be getting some 5200 motors and building drivers yourself. Question you should be asking is where can you get top assemblies/baskets for 15 inch tc sound drivers.

The OP appears to have a budget limitation that your suggestion is not very sensitive too. If we are going to suggest the 'best route' while ignoring cost, I suggest he just run out and buy four LMS Ultras and call it a day.

Looks like those AXIS go super low! Frequency range: 15 - 150 Hz, Fs: 23.0 Hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

OP also happens to be a close friend of mine. Trust me, when I suggested the "best route" I can assure you I took into consideration his budget. If he was patient enough, and with the right resources, he could easily pick up 4 5200 motors and build top assemblies for a fraction of the cost of 4 lms ultras ($3600.00)

Appreciate your insight.

tune lower, tc sounds is geared toward low bass, and there are other more efficient drivers for tuning that high. I have 2 axis in a 7 cu ft box tuned at 30hz and it's incredible. You can tune that high if you like, but you won't be getting the extra 100-200 dollars extra you'd be spending on the tc drivers. Just my opinion

Oh and from my experience with the axis, they will take 2000 all day everyday. 2500+ you would have to be careful on especially with low notes. It's easy to overexcurt them because they sound so clean while doing it. The lms-r will get stinky I've heard on anything over about 1700w
