4 15" CVX's in a Astro Van

Both the Astro and the Explorer will last forever. IMHO there's nothing wrong with an Astro van if it's done right. Just don't buy one with windows all the way around they ****.

Edit: For the record I make close to 6 figures and live in a state with almost the lowest cost of living in America and almost weekly I think of ditching my $440 a month car payment for something cheap to drive.

A 98 astro van will:

1. Break down and have problems way sooner than your explorer

2. Probably just end up being an endless money hole with a system like that and repairs

3. Most importantly make you look like a petifile

That's just my 2 cents. If you want go for it but definatly pics and vids when done.

hey ive got a 88 astro van for my spl vehicle, i didnt build it, I bought it all ready to go from the shop I used to work at, but, fully loaded its gets between 20-22 mpg in stop/go traffic and almost 30 on the highway, and with me in it weighs in at around 6500-6600 depends what ive got in it. It has the 4.3 v6 in it and its stock down to the air filter, but I also dont drive it like an idiot bc I know it wont go anywhere fast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But it is comfy to drive, I kinda thought about getting another one for a DD, I think the 88-9x(not sure what year they changed in the 90's) with a body kit dropped a bit looks sweet, but thats my opinion, good luck with your decision--Dinty

O and i have a wall in there with 4 18"s

Thanks for the good input. The one I have been looking at has windows all around. What exactly is wrong with that as opposed to a straight box van? Remember, I'm looking for a Daily Driver and not a strickly SPL machine. I see you have a wall also. Has anyone on here heard of a Astro with a reguler sub enclosure in the back, preferbly a CRX style one?

i think it is do to the flexing of the glass and the sides for a SPL application. But if you are just going to be using it for a DD I dont think it would be a problem if you go with the window versions. I havent heard an astro with a regular box, but I have heard an older dodge caravan and it sounded really good, I dont remember if it was "loud" or not but it is do-able. And I dont know what a CRX style box is, yea I know Im a noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Someone might have mentioned this but, If you have to work on the motor for any reason, tune-ups whatever, vans **** for that stuff. Just figured i would point that out. Sorry, if it has been mentioned.. Gl
